Tacheback 2007
When I was at the Great British Beer Festival in Earl's Court in London, August 2007 I noticed a strange stall there where people weren't buying beer, but where someone was taking photos of people wearing stick on moustaches - I had to investigate.
The stall was Tacheback and was basically asking men to get sponsorship to grow back their moustaches in the month of September in aid of testicular and prostate cancer research for the Everyman campaign. I felt the need to do my bit for this charity, so (being a tad daft at times) decided upon a dodgy 70's p0rn star style moustache.
To keep everyone's interest (tache growers and sponsors alike) the charity ran an on-line TacheWars, which I ended up winning, being crowned "Supreme Champion" thanks to the dedication and sore fingers of all of my supporters. I even appeared in the East Lothian Courier and the Daily Record ... and Scotland Today got hold of the story too!
This daft tache raised £1,878.23 for the Everyman Campaign :-)
So, on to the bits that everyone wants to see: the stop frame animation videos that I have on YouTube:
The final sequence - the culmination of 39 days of growing / sculpting / taking photos.
If the "Sledgehammer" effect is too much for you, try this one:

Start off with a blank canvas.
Yes, I know it's a bit before September, but this way I get a fuller and bushier tache!
For all you petrol heads / geeks out there, the shave was performed flawlessly with a Braun Activator 8595 in 7 minutes and 15 seconds (according to its built in timer).

At last, September arrives, so it's time for the dodgy 70s p0rn star
moustache to be "sculpted."

Oops - due to a 3 hour train journey from York to Derby, a quick check into a hotel and then immediately out to the pub for a stag doo, no photo was taken today.
So here's a quick impression of what the tache looked like :-)

This is the look for going to work tomorrow - on the bus too, I might add!
Just think of the number of people that will be going to work with a smile on their face after laughing at me on the bus :-)
